Snow Days

Snow at Greenlake, SeattleGeez, I already miss the snow!

For a week Seattle was paralyzed by a thick blanket of snow that turned our normally soggy-but-navigable home into a skis-and-snowshoes-only zone.  Granted, the same amount of snow in the midwest would barely have been noticed, but it’s unusual here, and everything ground to a halt in much the same way things stop in L.A. if it rains.

But even though nothing got done, and we cancelled/postponed our family’s Christmas celebrations, I already miss the blizzard.  Life is just a lot more fun with snow, and everything looks better, like these birch trees near Greenlake (photographed with a 45mm tilt-shift lens).  Besides, our rescheduled festivities will be in mid-January, which means this year we’ll be having a big Martin Luther King day celebration, which is just fine by me.
