Getting a kid into a suit
Getting a young boy to dress up is like trying to give a cat a pill. However, they’re often called into duty at weddings as ring-bearers, bell ringers or general filler material. When this happens, you have to get them into a suit.
My godson Giacomo was totally against the idea of a tuxedo, but his mother is a brilliant psychologist currently working undercover as a middle-school math teacher. In other words, she’s wicked sneaky!
Giacomo loves pirates, so it was a simple matter of telling him that the tuxedo was a “pirate suit,” and getting all the groomsmen to say “arrrrr!” a lot as they got dressed. Soon enough, with only a pro-forma show of tears, our little pirate was ready for the show.
The backward hat? According to Giacomo, it’s an eye patch.
